The story of the Dancemask For the first time the collection of African dancemasks owned by the famous coreographer and dancer Birgit Åkesson is shown to the public.



Permanent Exhibitions

In this new exhibition the history of The First Nations of North America is presented.



In the exhibition Creative Man we meet the power of creativety which made it possible for the human being to adapt to the most diverse situations and environments.



Bringing the world home is a piece of Swedish history. About some of the travellers who brought objects from all over the world back to Sweden and how they told their stories from remote places.



Exhibition of four scenes showing traditionl Japanese culture. Here are the samurai armor, swords, objets from the tea ceremony, masks and sumptuous textiles from the noh-theater.

The exhibition also displays artifacts from the indigenous people Ainu, ans photographs from the Ida Trotzig collection from the 1800s.



Two exhibitions which give a description of the image of the Congo in Sweden. The 1907 Mission´s Exhibition, as it were shown at the Royal Palace in Stockholm, and A village in Congo - Sundi Mongo 1980.
